Committees

Committees consist of appointed members and at least one board member. Each committee has specific goals and objectives that help the chapter to meet its mission. Committees report their activities at board meetings. Time requirements vary according to the member’s availability and the assignment.  Please contact us if you are interested in joining a committee.

Membership Committee

  • Recruitment and retention of members
  • Cultivate leadership among the chapter members
  • Maximize attendance at chapter meetings
  • Identify members’ needs and issues
  • Recruit committee members

Education Committee

  • Identify and help secure potential speakers
  • Determine the educational needs of our members
  • Develop educational programs that meet membership needs by enhancing the skills and knowledge base of our chapter members
  • Secure continuing education credit approval for our programs

Procurement Committee

  • Identify and secure sponsors for membership meetings
  • Assure sponsor satisfaction
  • Secure sponsor fees for treasury
  • Assist as requested, in securing conference locations, supplies etc for chapter and board meetings

Technology Committee

  • Investigate technological advances that will improve chapter communication and functioning
  • Secure web-site designer
  • Investigate potential formats and collect content for site
  • Develop and maintain e-mail address log for members and potential members
  • Maintain and update web site

Public Policy Committee

  • Keep membership informed of legislative initiatives at the Local and National Level.
  • Keep membership engaged in Legislative process Locally and Nationally
  • Participate with other Chapters to better serve CMSA Locally and Nationally
  • Secure Proclamations during special events like Case Management Week
  • Invite local legislators, to periodically attend our meetings, to better keep membership informed
  • Schedule meetings to meet with the Representative in the Legislators' Local District office or in New York’s State Capital
  • Function as a resource for our Legislators
  • Attend meetings in Washington D.C. to represent New York
